What approach do you take to therapy?

I have been trained in a cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused approach to counselling.  I implement evidence-based psychological interventions based on an assessment of your individualized situation.

In addition to cognitive behavioural and solution focused interventions, an emphasis is placed on understanding the physiological and neurological factors behind what may be driving your behaviors.  Therefore, a mindfulness-based intervention may also be used to help you tune into your parasympathetic nervous system (the relaxation response) in order to implement change and begin to feel a sense of inner peace.
