How can Neurofeedback help with Migraine Headaches?

Migraine headaches are a common, often disabling disorder characterized by increased excitability of the central nervous system.  Abnormalities in electrophysiological activity have commonly been found in the brains of migraine patients, therefore it is plausible that interventions such as neurofeedback may be of benefit.

Neurofeedback provides the client with information about their brainwaves and gradually and subtly teaches them how to alter their brainwave activity.  It helps your brain know when it is becoming unstable by going too far “out.”  Your brain uses that information to bring itself back.  Then increasingly it stays within those positive boundaries, becoming more flexible and resilient.  And the more it does that, the less symptoms there will likely be.
